Description:
|
Provides engineering/systems engineering/weapon integration support at the program and system level. Performs requirements analyses, system analyses and trade studies related to the optimization of system, subsystem, and component level designs and upgrades. Provides support for the implementation of requirements through existing development processes (hardware and/or software), system integration, and problem resolution. Leads/supports work-product reviews and preparations for various program design reviews. Provide technical and programmatic support for the development, integration, test, and fielding of systems, and/or subsystems. Support the development of System Architectures (SAs) and platform Interface Control Documents (ICDs). Additionally, provide expertise on embedded systems and/or other elements of complex weapons systems, formal systems engineering processes, and DoD convention for requirements specifications. Interact with customer on a daily basis; works under limited supervision in an integrated team environment; performs related work as required.

Education:
|
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related discipline, and/or equivalent experience. Experience with DoD system engineering processes and procedures are preferred, as are experience with; system level design and integration of DoD embedded systems, knowledge of DoD system architecture (SA) development, MIL/DoD standards, C programming, VME, PC104, 1553/1760 high speed data buses, KPPs, and associated programmatic documentation such as Interface Control Documents (ICDs). Masters degree, DAWIA certification, or other advanced degrees are a plus.

Job Functions:
|
Analyze operational, functional, and systems engineering processes required by the specific system, subsystem, component, or weapon.
Analyze systems engineering data utilized to describe/enable the flow and decomposition of integrated architecture information to assess commonality in accordance with current and emerging specifications.
Develop process descriptions that identify tasks, task inputs, outputs and task pre/post-conditions required to augment systems engineering and architecture specification.
Analyze and prepare supporting documentation, prepare and give briefings/presentations as required.
Perform program/engineering assessment and make recommendations based upon analysis in assigned areas of responsibility.
Formulate, compile, and defend budgets, plans and specifications, and technical analyses.
Perform functional analyses of systems, subsystems, components, and/or weapon systems.
Develop system level requirements, review contractor documentation for compliance, technical content, and completeness.

Requirements:
|
Experience in aircraft system, subsystem, component, and/or weapons engineering. Military aircraft systems/weapons, hardware, and/or software development, and the design of DoD weapon systems. Proven ability to lead/participate in an integrated team environment is a must. Understanding of the DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF) is a plus. EOE, M/F/D/V.
